Zines

Recent: Fanzineist Vienna (AT), Helsinki Zine Fest (FI) & Athens Art Book Fair (GR)
A few copies at Laitapuoti within Rajatila Gallery (Tampere, FI).

Sometimes published under own self-publisher GojiPub and name Tiio Suo.

The Closest Unknown Path

poetry zine (FI/EE 2023)

The zine reflectes the moments of depart and arrival, the new orientation in wider meanings. This is done in times when the whole concept of travel and transportation is magnified and questioned. The images and some texts are blended and digitally processed.

Yin Yang

group zine (NL 2022)

Collective zine made by selected artists working with text, poetry and image as collection of thoughts for/how self-publishers (to) balance the struggle of publishing in the climate crisis era. Curated by Floor van Meeuwen. Tiio contributed with poetry and AI-generated images.

Sundry Notes: How To Meet a Plant

zine (AT 2022)

A brief handbook how to meet a new plant and to get to know their senses. Scattered notes made while reading for example: Daniel Chamovitz, Emanuele Coccia, Susan Best.

Untitled

mail art (2021)

exhibition & catalog: VII Exposición Internacional de Arte Postal en Avilés (ES)

Bytes That May Be Thine

poetry zine (2021)

Somewhere in between cache memory, human memories, repetitions, doubts and search of understanding, we are unstable and shared. The poems are imitating virtual spaces or having them as a conscious receiver.

Post-AI Dictionary

artist's book (AT 2021)

The dictionary contains words from the cache memory of AI-based translator and images by DeepAI based on the words. AI-based translator is sometimes lost in context or with the entire meaning. What if we try to communicate by the misunderstood words, images made by machine?

Mellunmäki Silenz

photography zine (FI 2017)

A zine of flimsy memories. On a dark and rainy day in November 2016 I visited in Mellunmäki, East Helsinki for the first time since my childhood. I had only a few memories, but even those seemed misplaced: the bridge was there but in a wrong place, buildings too low, the swing nonexisting. A zine will keep some better structure than mind.

hetiZine no. 1

photography zine (FI 2016)

A collective zine made by selected artists in the Finnish Museum of Photography. Printed with riso and hand-bound with yarn.
